2009-05-13T16:52:09+02:00 MIchela Gulia e Gabriella Arrigoni Correspondences 2.2 is the first project curated by Harpa Project (Michela Gulia and Gabriella Arrigoni) and involves 14 couples of artists, invited to answer a provocative question -“Who is, between the two of you, the dominant figure in your artistic work?”- through an epistolary exchange, writing a dialogue sprung out from this question itself. To communicate with the partner, therefore, matches the double meaning of “correspond” as exchanging letters, and as a way to be similar or fit together. The initial question engages with this provocative linguistic game in order to develop a reflection upon themes like power, hierarchy, gender, the mechanisms of the creative process, and especially about the idea of authorship in our contemporary age, within a dimension that is different from a collective, and also different from the relational model of public art, but rather a dialectic dimension based on the minimal plural unit, that of 2. A sort of “connective intelligence”( Derrick de Kerckhove), appealing to the manifold but taking its starting point from the dialectic dimension of the couple, and reminding us that in every time, but especially nowadays, knowledge and creativity often come from an expanded identity, rather than a singular one.<br> <br> The exhibition, hosted by 26cc, presents a work (mainly videos and installations) by each of the involved couples. <br> Correspondences 2.2 è il primo progetto curato da Harpa Projects ( Michela Gulia e Gabriella Arrigoni ) e coinvolge quattordici coppie di artisti invitati a rispondere ad una domanda provocatoria - << Chi di voi due nell’attività artistica è la figura dominante? >> - articolando un dialogo tra loro nella forma di uno scambio epistolare. Questo scambio risponde ad uno dei due significati del termine “correspondence”, che può essere inteso sia come scambio di lettere sia come modo di corrispondere o di essere simile ad un altro. Un gioco linguistico (anche questo provocatorio) che insieme alla domanda iniziale richiama ad una riflessione non solo sui concetti di potere, gerarchia e genere , ma anche sul concetto di autorialità, in relazione ad una dimensione, quella della coppia, differente nei suoi meccanismi creativi dal “collettivo” e soprattutto differente dalla copia.<br> <br> Il materiale raccolto (di base costituito da questo scambio epistolare, ma gli esiti sono stati i più vari) è stato archiviato e reso pubblico attraverso il sito web, che contiene la trascrizione di tutta la corrispondenza.<br> <br> La mostra, ospitata da 26cc, presenta un lavoro (soprattutto video e installazioni) di ciascuna delle coppie coinvolte nel progetto. <br> 2009-06-04 11 20090518143916_13_carta_2.jpg 2009-05-21 2009-05-18T14:39:16+02:00
